The Body of Freedom

The Body of Freedom project is a charitable endeavour, which aims to draw attention to the topic of war, raise funds for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and to contribute to the culture with a history’s imprint of today’s Ukraine.

With models’ bodies, eight canvases were created to be put up for an international auction. All proceeds will be donated to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Body symbolizes mortality and physical sacrifice paid by Ukrainians, helping each other or protecting others on the battlefield. By exhibiting vulnerability and tenderness of our bodies, we remind of how frail life is.Keeping an austere look, applying paint layer by layer, and furthering our cause, we still head on – towards our goal.

The colours directly signify the Ukrainian flag that will remain on the canvases, through time and events, reminding the observer about the purpose of this project and the value of all memories of the war on the Ukrainian people.
